ARTSAROUND TOWN SHOPPING EVENT FEATURES LOCAL ARTISTS & DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES
Local Artists Shopping Event to benefit ArtsaRound begins Nov. 16 and runs thru Dec. 15th, 2012 and is set in Circleville’s Historic Downtown.

Circleville, Ohio — Oct.23, 2012 Circleville’s ArtsaRound Town Event, a returning Holiday Arts tradition for central Ohio, is promoting the arts, local artists and Circleville's downtown in this four week Holiday event. Over 65 Businesses and artists come together to bring Holiday Shoppers a unique selection of art in one of Ohio’s favorite historic downtowns.

New features this year include our Opening Night Gala at JR Hooks Restaurant at 115 Watt Street, Circleville, Ohio. This “meet the artists” event is open to the public at $5.00 per person. The evening includes light eats, live entertainment, and a glass of wine and door prices. No reservations are required. Another new feature is a 10am Saturday morning guided Downtown Tours of all artist locations. Starting and meeting at Uniquely Yours at 103 W. Main Street.

“This just felt like a great way to bring together hundreds of visitors and shopping guests and benefit area artists as well as our local businesses and Circleville’s ArtsaRound organization.” states J.P. Pennell, ArtsaRound Town Event Chair. “This event is sponsored by the Circleville Downtown Business Association, Roundtown Conservancy and Rosena’s Treasures” ArtsaRound formed in 2001, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting art and artists in Pickaway County and the regional area.

Artists were selected from throughout Pickaway County, Ohio and Circleville to exhibit their work before an eclectic group of collectors and visitors.  This special seasonal event will be held November 16th thru December 15th, 2012, at several downtown businesses, restaurants and non-retail locations, in and around Downtown Circleville, just south of the Columbus Ohio, off State Route 23. Artists will be appearing with their work at least once during the event.

The 14 Artistic Categories are: 2-D and 3-D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Drawing, Fiber, Functional Art, Glass, Printmaking, Jewelry, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Watercolor, and Woodwork.  Artists must submit original artwork for display and sell.  “We already have additional businesses and several new artists signing on for next year’s event” says Dorothy Cooper, ArtsaRound Town co-chair.

“I was born in Circleville, Ohio as a "Marine Brat" (both parents), so we eventually lived all over the east coast before we returned in 1994. I always managed to keep myself entertained with my sketchbook & the nearest TV. Ever since I was old enough to use a pencil, I've been creating images. After graduating from The Columbus College of Art & Design in 2005, I've been lucky enough to sustain freelance work. And yes, I am STILL horribly addicted to my sketchbook and TV.” - Jamie McLeese
